Reaching the Unreachables

Like most Internet entrepreneurs, Charles Smith and Bill Flitter consume a staggering amount of online media. "I must go through 20 sites a day, and Bill is the same way," Smith says. So two years ago, they started experimenting with RSS, or real simple syndication, a technology that sends alerts to users in digest form as content is updated.
